Peel Tales
A tactile papercraft puzzle board showing a valid long coral chain and special endpoint.

Core gameplay

Draw the chain. Earn the diagonal.

Connect matching tiles, read the material in front of you, and build routes that only become possible when your chain reaches five.

The exact rule

Orthogonal first. Diagonal when earned.

  1. Start on a selectable tile.
  2. Connect matching valid neighbors up, down, left, or right.
  3. Reach five selected tiles.
  4. From the sixth tile onward, true corner neighbors become valid too.
  5. Backtrack below five and diagonal candidates close immediately.

This is a deterministic educational diagram, not a playable copy of the game. It enforces the real rule: it will refuse a diagonal while the chain holds fewer than five tiles — including after you backtrack.

Chain tiers

Every extra link should feel earned.

Normal Chain

A clean, readable move with crisp tactile feedback.

Flow Chain

Six or seven links unlock stronger scoring and diagonal energy.

Super Chain

Eight or nine links create a larger strategic swing.

Master Chain

Ten or more links deliver the strongest bounded reward and a moment worth remembering.

Fair boards

Surprise without punishment.

Boards are shaped for variety, checked for meaningful choices, and recovered safely when no valid move remains. Randomness should create possibility—not take control away from the player.

Objectives

Every material asks a different question.

Collect color, peel layers, clear tape and folds, guide letters, reveal hidden keepsakes, read forecasts, and solve chapter finales—all through one tactile language.
