The game

A puzzle you can understand in a touch—and keep mastering for hundreds of levels.

Read the objectives, trace a valid chain, release, and watch the book rebuild around your choices. Simple rules become richer through Diagonal Flow, dynamic board events, risk contracts, special tools, and personal mastery.

The core loop

Read. Trace. Release. Rebuild.

01 · Read

Read

Objectives, move budget, board condition, and challenge state stay visible without covering the puzzle.

02 · Trace

Trace

Drag through valid matching neighbors. The board responds tile by tile.

03 · Release

Release

Score the chain, clear material, update goals, and create a special opportunity when mastery earns it.

04 · Rebuild

Rebuild

The board refills under a controlled seeded profile, giving you a new decision rather than a random mess.

Anatomy of a level

Everything you need. Nothing on top of the board.

  1. Primary objectives — what this level asks you to collect or clear.
  2. Side target — an optional secondary goal worth planning around.
  3. Move limit — the budget every chain spends.
  4. Score and Momentum — your running result and rhythm state.
  5. Board event forecast — upcoming behavior you can plan against.
  6. Pause — settings and restart without losing clarity.
  7. Temporary guidance — one-shot hints that clear on their own.

Challenge cadence

The rule set grows with you.

Level 6+ · Momentum

Strong chains build a rhythm worth protecting.

Level 21+ · Risk Contract

Optional pressure asks whether a larger reward is worth a harder route.

Level 41+ · Forecast

Upcoming board behavior becomes information you can plan around.

Every 20 levels · Chapter Finale

A focused test of the chapter's visual and mechanical language.

Challenges arrive from these levels onward — not every level uses every challenge.

Fair board guarantees
Seeded and replayable The same seed reproduces the same board.
Seven board profiles Balanced to Dynamic — variety with intent.
Four gravity directions Refill direction is part of the level design.
Target-aware spawning Objectives stay achievable, not theoretical.
Free dead-board recovery Reshuffles never charge a move.

Fair board

Surprise without sabotage.

Peel Tales uses reproducible seeds, board profiles, color-history checks, target-aware spawning, and move validation to keep boards varied and readable. If a board becomes dead, the game reshuffles it without charging a move and verifies the result again.

Progression

Finish the page. Improve the story.

Level unlocks move the journey forward. Stars, best score, best moves, longest chain, momentum records, chapter memories, and Score Chest progress give every revisit a reason. There is no character grind hiding behind the board—the progression reflects how well you play.
